Stewardship

"WE ARE JUDGED BY OUR DEEDS"

At FCDS, stewardship is a collective effort. Each year, every grade sponsors a stewardship project, reinforcing the value of contributing to our local community and supporting others. While the grade takes the lead, it's the combined effort of all students at FCDS that makes these projects a success. 
Kindergarten – Crayon collection for The Crayon Initiative
Grade 1 – Coin collection for Heifer International
Grade 2 - Pen and marker collection for Terracycle
Grade 3 – Sneaker collection for GotSneakers
Grade 4 - Winter Gear Drive for nOURish Inc. & Bridgeport Rescue Mission
Grade 5 - Notes and cards for Westport Senior Center
Grade 6 – Food Drive for Family & Children's Agency of Norwalk
Grade 7 – Pink Pledge benefiting Norma Pfreim Breast Cancer Center 
Grade 8 – Pancake Breakfast benefiting a different charity each year
Grade 9 - Food Drive for Mercy Learning Center
 
FCDS composts food scraps for Little River Farm, participates in Mustaches for Movember, collects toys for the AMR Bridgeport Holiday Toy Drive, and holds a Hoop/Skate-A-Thon for Make-A-Wish.
